Starting a business with your best friend is equal parts exciting, terrifying, and incredibly rewarding and that’s exactly where Brittney and I find ourselves right now.
This blog is the beginning of our journey into the wedding world, sharing how our experiences, creativity, and love for celebrations have naturally grown into a wedding planning business we’re so proud to be building together.
How It All Started
Weddings have always been part of our lives in different ways. Brittany is a photographer with an incredible eye for emotion, detail, and storytelling. She has spent years capturing love stories through her lens, understanding what moments matter most and how quickly a wedding day flies by.
I, on the other hand, have spent years bartending events such as weddings, receptions, and celebrations of all kinds. Working behind the scenes taught me how events really function: timelines, flow, guest experience, and how the smallest details can make or break the night.
What we didn’t realize at first was how perfectly these two worlds fit together.
The Wedding That Changed Everything
Everything really clicked when we helped with our friend Karly’s wedding. While Brittany photographed the day, I stepped in wherever I was needed, from helping set up the decor, lending some of my own wedding supplies for her to use and assisting throughout the day (even while also standing beside her as a bridesmaid).
We worked together to make sure everything came together the way she envisioned. From setting up the space to helping things run smoothly behind the scenes, it was one of those days where everyone just jumped in to make it special.
After the celebration ended, we stayed to help pack everything up and clean the space, and earlier in the process I had also helped with cleanup after her bridal shower.
Seeing how meaningful those little moments of support were, and watching Karly truly enjoy her day, sparked something for both of us. We realized how much we loved being part of the behind-the-scenes work that helps a wedding come together.
That experience showed us that helping couples bring their wedding days to life wasn’t just something we were good at, it was something we genuinely loved doing.
Why We Work So Well Together
Brittany brings the creative vision and the photographer’s perspective she knows how to design moments that look beautiful and feel authentic. I bring the logistical side, hospitality experience, and calm under pressure energy that comes from years of working live events.
Together, we balance creativity with structure, aesthetics with practicality, and excitement with organization.
Most importantly, we genuinely care. We treat every wedding like it’s for a close friend because that’s how this all began.
